Clumping bentonite generally performs best on odour because urine is sealed into a solid clump and removed whole. Silica crystals handle moisture well in humid weather, and tofu litter sits between the two while being flushable and lighter.
Scoop at least once daily and replace clumping litter fully every two to three weeks. In Ahmedabad's humidity, a tray left longer develops ammonia odour quickly and is a leading cause of cats toileting elsewhere.
